Jennifer Aniston is an American film and television actress. She’s best known for her role of “Rachel” on the sitcom, Friends. She’s the founder of the production company, Echo Films. Aniston was born to parents John and Nancy on February 11, 1969 in Los Angeles, California. She has two half-brothers, John Melick and Alex. Aniston spent her early childhood in Eddystone, Pennsylvania before moving to New York City. She attended a Waldorf school followed by Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School. She was an active member of LaGuardia’s drama society.
CAREER
Aniston began her career in Off-Broadway productions. Her stage credits include For Dear Life, and Dancing on Checker’s Grave. She was a guest on The Howard Stern Show in 1989. Aniston made her television debut in the 1990 series, Molloy. The show was canceled after the first season. Her follow up include the series Ferris Bueller, Muddling Through, and the films Leprechaun (1993), and Camp Cucamonga (1990).
In 1994, Aniston landed her breakthrough role of “Rachel Green” on the series, Friends. The show ran for 10 seasons on NBC from 1994 to 2004. She won a Primetime Emmy, a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actors Guild Award for her performance. She was reportedly making $1 million per episodes for the last three seasons.
Aniston held prominent roles in the independent films She’s the One (1996), Office Space (1999), and The Good Girl (2002). She starred alongside Jim Carrey and Morgan Freeman in the 2003 comedy film, Bruce Almighty. A year later she was matched up with Ben Stiller in Along Came Polly. Aniston has played the lead female in number of other films including The Break-Up (2006), Marley & Me (2008), Just Go with It (2011), and We’re the Millers (2013).
