The relationship between Sasaki and Miyano is the main driving force behind the story. One year Sasaki's junior, Miyano initially thought of Sasaki as a charming, rakish upperclassman who he admired, despite being slightly intimidated (and soon after, annoyed) by Sasaki. They first learn of each other when Sasaki stops Miyano from stepping in and saves Kuresawa from being beat up in his stead. A few months later, their friendship begins in earnest when Sasaki asks to borrow a manga from Miyano and Miyano lends him one of his BL manga, leading to a relationship of talking about BL together.
Being indecisive to a fault, Miyano admires Sasaki's courage and thinks of him as cool, though as time passes these feelings eventually evolve into something more.
