Moesha was a UPN sitcom that ran from January 23, 1996, until May 14, 2001. Through the viewpoint of adolescent Moesha Mitchell, the series centred on an upper-middle-class Black family. Moesha was seen putting her emotions down in her journal in the show's distinctive opening scene, which included a voiceover exposing her deepest thoughts.  Her vice principal, Dee was remarried by Moesha's widowed car dealer father. Moesha was adamantly opposed to this. Moesha is a fiery, sometimes obstinate adolescent who isn't afraid to fight for what she believes in. Brandy Norwood as Moesha Denise "Mo" Mitchell

"What isn't Brandy up to now?" might be a better question. After Moesha ended in 2001, Brandy returned to music with Full Moon, her third studio album. MTV's Brandy: Special Delivery covered her pregnancy journey with daughter Sy'Rai Iman Smith, whom she welcomed with ex Robert "Big Bert" Smith in June 2002. Since then, she's released four more albums (Afrodisiac, Human, Two Eleven, and B7) and appeared in a number of television series and films, including One on One, 90210, The Game, Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor, and Star. She's also continued to dabble in reality television as a judge on America's Got Talent, a contestant on Dancing With the Stars, and having her own show with her brother, Ray J, called Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business.

William Allen Young as Franklin "Frank" Mitchell

Frank Mitchell, played by William Allen Young, was the shop's owner and a Saturn vehicle salesperson. Mitchell mistook Dorian for his nephew, but he was actually his son. Both Frank and Dee Mitchell have a severe parenting style. After Moesha, Young went on to star in programs like CSI: Miami and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Code Black, a medical drama series that ended in May 2020, was one of Young's final television performances. He also had a recurring role on Fox's 9-1-1 as Benjamin William.

Countess Vaughn as Kimberly Ann "Kim" Parker

Moesha's boy-crazy best friend was Kim Parker. Countess Vaughn departed Moesha to act opposite comedian Mo'Nique in the spinoff The Parkers. Vaughn married Joseph James in 2002 and they had a kid together, but they separated in 2005. Vaughn and ex-fiancé and television celebrity David Whitten welcomed a daughter in 2009. 

Vaughn has also starred in reality television series such as Celebrity Fit Club, Celebrity Rap Superstar, Hollywood Divas, and Dish Nation's episode The 10 Best Celebrity Feuds You May Have Forgotten. She talked about her feud with Brandy. Vaughn, who is now 42 years old, took his hand at singing once more with the song Do You Love Him? Vaughn was known for her great voice, but thyroid troubles have caused her to lose her ability to sound as she did in the past.

Marcus T. Paulk as Myles Mitchell

Myles Mitchell was Moesha's naughty younger brother, yet he was nonetheless cute and brightened the scene. Marcus T. Paulk has reached the age of 34! In 2005, he co-starred in the film Roll Bounce with Bow Wow. Mitchell starred as Dustin in Another Cinderella Story in 2008. Mitchell also starred alongside Antonio Banderas in the 2006 film Take The Lead. He also appeared in season 4 of The Bad Girls Club and starred alongside Amber Rose in Sister Code in 2015. In 2021, he also looks to be releasing new songs and filming music videos.

Lamont Bentley as Hakeem Campbell

Moesha's childhood friend and neighbour, Hakeem Campbell, would eventually become her lover. He was a comic character who constantly desired whatever dish the Mitchell family was preparing. On Moesha's spinoff series, The Parkers, Lamont Bentley portrayed the same character. Bentley died in an automobile accident in 2005, at the age of 31. While driving on the Rocky Peak Fire Road off-ramp in Ventura County, California, Bentley was speeding. Bentley was survived by his two daughters.

Yvette Wilson as Andalusia Louise "Andell" Wilkerson

Andell, played by Yvette Wilson, was Moesha's adult buddy and the owner of The Den, a local hangout. She sold The Den to a funeral home director in season five. Wilson, like Bentley, also appeared in The Parkers and repeated her role. She was the best friend of Nikki Parker, played by Mo'Nique, who operated a self-named bar and restaurant in the Parkers. Wilson married record producer Jerome Harry in 2001, and in 2006, he returned to HBO's Def Comedy Jam. Her most recent film appearance was in Ganked. Wilson died of cervical cancer in 2012, at the age of 48.

Sheryl Lee Ralph as Deidre "Dee" Mitchell (née Moss)

In the first five seasons, Sheryl Lee Ralph, 64, played Dee Mitchell, Frank's wife and Moesha's stepmother. In the sixth and last season, she reappeared. Sheryl has been in a variety of TV episodes, including Instant Mom, Ray Donovan, Tyler Perry's House of Payne, and Claws. In 2012, she published Redefining Diva: Life Lessons from the Original Dreamgirl, and in 2016, she starred in Wicked on Broadway as Madame Morrible. In 2005, she married Vincent Hughes, a Pennsylvania state senator. President Kelly Wade in the Freeform series Motherland: Fort Salem is her most recent role.

Shar Jackson as Denise "Niecy" Jackson

In season one, Niecy Jackson played Moesha's best friend on a recurrent basis, but she became a regular in seasons two through six. She is now 44 years old and holds a bachelor's degree in psychology as well as a master's degree in forensic science. In 2007, Jackson starred in the reality TV show Ex-Wives Club, which aimed to aid those going through a divorce or separation. Jackson was engaged to Kevin Federline, Britney Spears' ex-boyfriend. Jackson and Federline have a daughter and a son together. She already had a son and a daughter with her ex-high school lover before having children with Federline. Following Moesha, Jackson appeared on a number of television shows, including The Bernie Mac Show, Celebrity Fit Club, and Shameless, which aired until 2021.

Fredro Starr as Quinton "Q" Brooks

On the show, Quinton Brooks, also known as "Q," was Moesha's longest-running love affair. He was rough around the edges, and Moesha's father despised him because he had a negative impact on her. His character has been described as poisonous by fans who have returned the show. Fred Scruggs Jr., better known as Fredro Starr, was found by Run-late D.M.C.'s Jam Master Jay.  Onyx's multi-platinum rap group included Fredro Starr. He's 50 years old now! He's been in several television shows, including Save the Last Dance, Law & Order, The Wire, and CSI: Miami, to mention a few. Scruggs Jr. has appeared in more than 55 films and TV series. Since 2007, Scruggs Jr. is married to Croatian model Korina Longin and has two children.

Ray J as Dorian Long

Dorian, Moesha's long-lost brother, was played by Ray J in the series. Ray J is not just Brandy's on-screen brother, but also her real-life brother. Ray J is now 40 years old and has had a string of successful singles since the program, including Wait A Minute with Lil' Kim in 2001, One Wish in 2006, and Sexy Can I with Yung Berg in 2008. Ray J is also well-known for releasing a sex tape with Kim Kardashian, which helped her gain notoriety. Ray J was a cast member on Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood and starred in season five of One On One. He also had a reality TV program called For the Love of Ray J. Ray J married model Princess Love in 2006, however, the couple is presently going through a divorce. They have two children together: Epik, a son, and Melody, a girl.
