A ribbon-cutting ceremony is being held on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 3 p.m. for new pickleball courts at Kleiner Park in Meridian.

The four new courts are located in the northwest corner of Julius M. Kleiner Memorial Park at 1900 N Records Avenue.

The construction of the pickleball courts was made in exchange for six hours of priority use for residents of the nearby Bri at the Village apartment community on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon.

At most other times, the courts will be available for use by the general public. This agreement will remain in place for ten years.

According to Meridian Parks and Recreation Director Steve Siddoway, “This project is a win-win for everyone involved and demonstrates the great things that can be accomplished through partnership and collaboration.” He adds, “Given the tremendous popularity of pickleball, we have every reason to believe these courts will be greatly appreciated and well used for many years to come.”
