CAREER
Ramsey was drawn to country music way before his viral moment as the “Walmart yodeling kid.” He was initially referred to as “Little Hank”, due to his many covers of Hank Williams. In addition to Hank, Ramsey drew early inspiration from Elvis Presley, Randy Travis and Buddy Holly. He also cited new-school acts like Ed Sheeran, Blake Shelton, and Keith Urban as inspiration. Ramsey’s Debut EP, Famous, arrived in July 2018. It was released by Atlantic and Big Loud. In addition to the aforementioned 2 singles, the project featured “Jambalaya (On The Bayou)”, “The Way I See It”, “Yo Da Lady Who” and “I Saw The Light.” Ramsey wrapped up 2018 with a cover of Irving Berlin’s 1942 classic “White Christmas.” His first track of 2019 “Twang” was released on June 14. The supporting music video attracted 4 million views in the first month. In July 2019, Mason Ramsey landed a guest verse on Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” remix opposite Billy Ray Cyrus and Young Thug. The remix was supported by an animated video by Somehoodlum. The video showed them storming and raiding Area 51.
